Our Story

The Beginning

I have been interested in nature and health going back to childhood.  Throughout college, I was exposed to a variety of cultures.  This helped me to deconstruct some of my preconceived notions, especially about food.  During this time, I realized there was a significant disconnection with me and the food I was eating on a daily basis.  Years later my wife and I had the chance to purchase our first house.  Luckily she has a highly developed connection with nature, grew up with an edible garden, and wanted a house with a yard.  Early on she planted a lemon tree, lemon grass, papaya, sweet potatoes, among other things.  I watched these things grow abundantly with much less effort than I thought would be involved.  It was incredible to me that we could grow so much in our backyard this easily.  After seeing this, we began to grow more, learn more, and I became inspired to start a business doing this for others.  I want others to be able to feel that same fascination.  It took a pandemic filled with planting, a permaculture certification with Urban Harvest Houston, and an excellent mentor to help me take this to the next level of actually creating the business.  Now, I am a certified permaculture designer ready to help others get a closer connection with nature all while improving the health and wealth of you, your family, community, and the world.

My Background

I graduated from Penn State University with a major in chemical engineering, and a minor in environmental engineering.  Afterwards, I spent over 14 years in oil and gas as a mud engineer in the field, mud engineer in the lab, product development engineer, and a territory manager covering catalyst and chemical sales into refineries & petrochemical plants.  Chemistry is everywhere, and it continues to fascinate me.  I'm excited to be utilizing my knowledge and experience in chemical technology and now permaculture to help develop farming technology & service offerings.
